World Of Warcraft Fishing Guide - A Nice Break From Wow's Hectic Pace

Of the various skills that players can learn in World of Warcraft (WoW), has never been known as one of the more glamorous or flashiest of professions. However, it can be rewarding both in terms of acquiring WoW gold and providing the new player with a sense of accomplishment. Here are some tips and tricks for doing well in the professions and some of the benefits that go along with becoming a skilled fisherman.

The first step in learning the profession is to find a trainer. You find these near bodies of water (of course). After you have spoken with the trainer, you will need to get gear such as a pole and the other items needed for the profession. When you are first starting out, you will only be able to afford some very basic equipment, but after you get more experienced and have more gold, you will be able to upgrade your equipment which will then allow you to increase your productivity.

When you first start fishing, you should probably stick to areas that are associated with your race. The reason for this is that it allows you to build up your skill much more easily than expanding to outside areas where you may have to confront other obstacles that will slow down your learning process. The profession itself is pretty straightforward. You cast your line and watch the bobber. If you see your bobber go underwater, you probably have a fish. As you catch more and more fish, you will slowly increase your skill by a little bit each time.

The profession has five skill levels associated with it: apprentice, journeyman, expert, artisan and master. The first two of these are achieved by catching a certain number of fish.

To reach the expert level requires more work and many players will purchase a guidebook that brings them along faster called "Expert Fishing, the Bass and You". To become a artisan requires the completion of two quests. If you want to achieve the level of master, again most players will purchase a guide called "Master -- Art of Angling".

By focusing on the skill, you get a more leisurely gameplay experience (at least as long as you decide to stay with the skill) but that doesn't mean there are not any rewards to it. You earn gold in a couple of different ways. Certain fish can be used by alchemists to mix up elixirs, potions, and flasks. These fish are very valuable and command a high price in the Auction House when you decide to sell.

The bottom line for the profession is that it can be a nice break from the sometimes hectic pace of the other professions and the constant need to get into battles to defend oneself. Most people do get bored with it after some time but it's nice to have in your "bag of tricks" to fall back on if needed, and of course you will be acquiring that all-important World of Warcraft gold through as well.
