ABOUT BASS FISHING
After Daniel Eggersten
One of the things that makes bass fishing so popular is the fact that they can be found most
anywhere. They live in all types of waters that have the main necessities for survival. These include food to eat, cover to hide in and lots of oxygen. The more cover and vegetation a body of water has,
probably means they have more bass than other locations as well.
The key is to fish around the structures, under ledges and in holes. They eat a variety of foods so you can be successful using both live bait and artificial baits, whichever you prefer.
It is important to present the bait correctly. Many anglers use electronics to help
them locate the bass faster so they can spend more time fishing and less time searching for
them.
When is the best time to Go Bass Fishing?
This is not an easy question to answer for several reasons. There are many factors that influence the answer. For instance, it depends on where you live, what type of water you're fishing in and which type
of bass you're fishing for. All of these factors plus many more will determine
when the bass is the most active and when you'll get the best results. However, there are a few general rules that you can follow that will help you get a better idea of when you might get the best results. Thease are:
Bass seem to thrive in cool water better than cold or warm waters. For
this reason, it's usually best to go fishing during seasons when the water is cool.
Early mornings and late evenings usually yield the most bites. If you live in the northern states,
a good time to go bass fishing is as soon as the weather breaks and the ice begins to melt. The fish
will be in search of a good meal during this time of the year.

Fall and even winter is a good time to bass fish
in the southern states where the temperature doesn't
get below freezing very often.
Fishing at night can be very productive no matter
where you live.
A few days before and after a full moon and during
a new moon, seems to always be a good time to go
bass fishing.
A great time to go bass fishing is during the
spawning season. This is always a good time because
the bass are hungry and getting ready to spawn.
These are the times when most anglers seem to get
the most bites so they are considered the best
times to go bass fishing. However, bass can be
enticed to bite anytime if you have the right
bait and present it correctly.
BASS FISHING TIPS
The bass seek out shelter to hide from their prey
so they can ambush them when they swim by. If they
don't think the cover is good enough to keep them
hid from the prey, they will move.
This is why you don't want to get too close to the spot where you're fishing. If they see you,
they may feel threatened and feel as thought the cover is not sufficient and they will move to a
new location. Therefore, use techniques that will allow you to
fish the structures without getting too close.
The bass is always changing and adapting to it's environment so they can be unpredictable. You
need to keep a close eye on the climate, water temperatures and other changes in the environment
and you will be able to get a better idea of where to find the bass. The amount of vegetation, number of structures, depth and water clarity are all factors that influence the behavior of the bass.
Choose your bait according to the natural food source found in the water where you're fishing. This is very important and it can help to make your fishing trips more productive. If a particular type of bait looks out of place and doesn't belong in that area, the bass will probably ignore it. Take a few minutes and look around to see what baitfish is the most plentiful or would be the most appetizing to
the bass. Then, choose your bait based on this observation.
Bass fishing is for everyone whether you have experience fishing or not. It can be fun and entertaining and it's a great way to stay in touch with nature. The information above can help you to reel in more fish the next time you go bass fishing.
Purchasing Tackle Online
By Nic DiGravio
Purchasing tackle on line is easy, quick and painless! I know, because I have been doing it for years! I find it convenient and, most of all, there is yet to be a time when I get the dreaded, “Sorry, we’re out of them!” On line purchasing gives me buying power at my finger tips. There is no fuss……. just direct right to my door service!
I remember purchasing plastics from a local tackle shop during a pre-fish. I do this from time to time to see what is hot and not in a particular lake, or if something catches my eye. I purchased the last two packages of this plastic minnow bait that proved to be a hit during the pre-fish. I tried to find more for the coming tournament with no luck. I thought, “It’s a good thing I saved a few for the competition ahead!” This product worked so well that if they had had ten packs at that tackle shop I would have purchased them all. I trust my instincts because it put Bass after Bass in the live well and placed us in sixth place with the prize for Biggest Bass of the day. Devastated by the fact that my supply of this plastic wonder was depleted, I found myself staring into an empty pack desperately hoping more would miraculously appear! What did appear were the letters WWW.YOUCANGETMOREHERE......DUMMY.COM! A no-brainer! I went on line and purchased bags of these miraculous plastics. It was so easy that I began purchasing many different products on line! It got to a point where I would search out tackle through search engines to read different perspectives of each product. I think reading then purchasing on line is a good combo because it gives us anglers’ choice in different product scenarios and usage. What better way to shop! We read about it and in the same page we can purchase it. That makes good Bass sense in my book!
Why do some anglers shy away from on line purchasing? Are we worried? Perhaps we are afraid of fraud or identity theft! Or the future! If we think about it, how many of us do our banking on line? I do! And without a fear in the world I might add! Financial institutions are on line because it is easy and convenient…..and painless! I constantly search the web for new products to put to the test. And if they are successful in filling my live well then I write about my findings for readers to judge for themselves. Maybe it’s worthy of occupying space in your tackle box as well? Trust plays a major roll here, but by reading between the lines readers can find sincerity in words.
Purchasing Tackle on line has its advantages. The World Wide Web is a fountain of knowledge. When I was growing up fishing knowledge was limited. Basically, it was the word of mouth for secret spots and secret baits! Getting my first desk top computer complete with the internet cracked all the secrets and spewed page after page of tackle galore. And all at the click of a mouse!
We strive to provide only quality articles, so if there is a specific topic related to fishing you would like to be covered, please contact us at any time.
