Personal Bass Boat - An Affordable Bass Fishing Alternative
By Trevor Kugler

What, you've never heard of a personal bass boat? I can tell you from experience that a personal bass boat is something you should consider. Not only are these boats an affordable alternative to high priced bass boats, they are also amazingly convenient. If you're a bass angler you need to take a hard look at all the features a personal bass boat has to offer.

The first thing to consider is the fact that personal bass boats are very affordable, especially when compared to traditional bass boats. Where a traditional bass boat could cost upwards of $20,000, a personal bass boat will on cost from $300 to $1600. This is quite a difference and something worth considering. The cost savings of a personal bass boat is only the tip of the iceberg though.

These boats are also a great and very quiet way to get into hard to reach places where bass tend to reside. The most common personal bass boats are inflatable, which makes them extremely lightweight and maneuverable. Being lightweight and maneuverable is of the utmost importance when navigating hard to reach places like deep weeds and downed trees. These types of situations are where personal bass boats really shine.

The most popular personal bass boats are inflatable pontoon boats. These boats come in two types. The first type has two inflatable pontoons with a seat in the middle. This type is less expensive, but requires that you get a bit wet. In this type of personal bass boat your feet are normally

hanging the water. If you wear waders or the water is warm this isn't too much of an issue.

The second type of personal bass boat is again an inflatable pontoon boat. The difference with these boats is that the angler sits/stands above the water on a platform. In this type of personal bass boat the angler doesn't get wet at all. The amazing thing is that this style of personal bass boat, although a bit larger, is no less maneuverable that their smaller cousins (mentioned above). A popular choice for this type of boat is the FoldCat inflatable pontoon boat. This is the style of personal boat I own and have owned for more than 15 years.

Both of these styles of personal bass boats are the perfect solution to high priced bass boats. The convenience that inflatable boats offer is unmatched as well. All around these boats are a viable and practical alternative for anyone in the market for a bass boat.
